Bentonite

Bentonite, a clay mineral renowned for its remarkable absorbency and unique swelling properties, can exist in two forms: Na-montmorillonite or Ca-montmorillonite. Na-montmorillonite exhibits significantly greater swelling capacity compared to Ca-montmorillonite, rendering it highly valuable across various applications. Characterized by its smooth or greasy texture, our Bentonite products are distinguished by their exceptional swelling capabilities, finding extensive use in drilling, construction, and pet litter applications.

Applications:

  • Drilling: Utilized in drilling muds for lubrication and cooling purposes.
  • Construction: Acts as a waterproofing material for foundations.
  • Pet Litter: Forms clumps, facilitating easy waste removal.
  • Other applications: Includes purification, absorption, carrier, filler, sealant, catalyst, medicine, farming, Bentonite slurry walls in modern construction, pottery, and animal feed.
